Here be Flagons is a group of 5 friends and multi-instrumentalists who share a passion for ancient history, music and folklore. Our goal is to inspire people young and old to discover or rediscover the joy that music can bring and

demonstrate how instruments have evolved throughout human history as well as their often unexpected and bizarre origins.

Here be Flagons formed in the spring of 2021. We started out with a small number of instruments but that quickly changed. Over the course of the next two years, Here be flagons would go on to perform at several Private events, battle re-enactments, festivals, living history weekends, school visits and even performing with 1960s ‘God of Hellfire’ Arthur Brown!

Now we have a collection of nearly 100 Instruments spanning the Neolithic Era to Iron Age, Roman, Saxon, Viking, through to the mid 1900s!
