What a pleasure to have ‘Here be Flagons’ at our festival!
Everyone loved the instruments, the drumming workshops, the reenactors, the medieval tent and all the amazing knowledge that the Flagons crew imparted!
So enticing was their set up that even the members of our festival’s bands couldn’t resist coming over to have a go on the
incredible, quirky, ancient instruments!
We shall certainly be asking them back 😊

It has been a pleasure working with Here Be Flagons who have consistently created hands-on and inspiring visitor experiences to bring our open air museum to life.
The team have a very open, flexible and friendly approach and have been willing to go the extra mile to create special experiences tied into other events and activities at the farm, such as the opening of our formal Roman garden.
This is all grounded in their fantastic musical talent and ability to play such a wide range of musical instruments from so many periods of history.
We have been really impressed with the way Here Be Flagons engage visitors of all ages with history through their music and
enthusiasm for bringing the past to life.

We had the pleasure of having Here Be Flagons attend our event in Sandwich and they blew us away with the incredible range of early musical instruments played at such an incredible level.
They entertained the crowd with amazing energy every set and got everyone involved with drum circles. Then without hesitation, joined in a procession and stayed at the tavern to jam with other musicians in the evening.
A truly brilliant, fun and entertaining band that I will not hesitate to book again. -

We saw Here Be Flagons at Butser Ancient Farm today and they were fantastic! I have never seen so many wonderful, historic instruments in one place before and all members of the group were happy to share their knowledge and demonstrate the various instruments, even letting us try some of them. They were great at getting people involved. Our children loved it, so much so that this evening, at the dinner table, one of them turned to me and, holding their fajita like a wind instrument, said to me, "Look Mummy, I'm playing a bone pipe!". Here Be Flagons are friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. It was a real pleasure to see them at Butser Ancient Farm today and we enjoyed participating in a drum circle and listening to their talks about their instruments. Great team of people!
